Exhibition Open Call!

After the success of the JakBox Presents exhibition, we are going to be curating a series of group shows in the gallery. The first, MEWS #1: Urban Environment, will be in early July and applications are now open!

JakBox is an artist-led collective based in Camden. We are currently seeking artists to exhibit work as part of MEWS #1, the first in a series of group shows in a new, exciting art space in Camden.

The theme for MEWS #1 is Urban Environment, and we want work that challenges the preconceptions of the city we live in. This is open to your own interpretation.

We are accepting 2D, 3D and performance artworks but unfortunately we are unable to accept video works.

The show will be installed by experienced curators, with invitations, press release, promotion and private view organised by JakBox. Accepted artists will also be expected to promote the event through their social media and networks.

There will be no fee to submit your work, but the works accepted will be asked to pay a small  exhibition fee ranging from £10 - £50 according to the size of work.

Artists can submit up to 5 pieces. To apply, please email [email protected] with your name, address, phone number, email and website/blog. Attach images of the work and a word document stating the title, medium, size and price of each work alongside an artist statement (100 words max) and artist biography (100 words max).

Deadline for entries is the 12th June.

Accepted artists will be informed by 17th June.

Work will need to be dropped off at the gallery on 28th June, and picked up on 5th July.

The exhibition will run from 1st - 4th July, with the Private View on the evening of the 1st.
